Nianyi (“Twenty-Four”) is a small digital garden: the 24 solar terms are its paths, traditional Chinese colors its scenery. The solar terms — China's ancient system of timekeeping based on the sun's annual motion — were inscribed on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016.

Color names are drawn from historical texts and dyeing traditions; all poems come from classical sources. May you feel the turning of the seasons, even within the frame of a screen.
